Interpretation of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectra (FTIR): A Practical Approach in the Polymer/Plastic Thermal Decomposition

چکیده

Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) is one of the tools to represent molecular structure based on atomic vibration. It can denote a specific property chemical bond and in material, especially when analyzing specimens relating plastics, polymers, organic components. The FTIR peaks spectrum act as fingerprint bonding, which need sufficient reference database distinguish them. This paper address issues for FTIR. exhibits step-by-step information how read interpret spectra identify molecule's backbone with its functional groups. Practical examples from analysis several plastics/polymers thermally decomposing were included help guide reader comprehend basic concept spectra.
